FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Answers to questions about Biometric Security and our company, BioAxxis Development Corporation.
Biometrics General:
What is biometrics?
Biometrics is defined as "automated methods of identifying and authenticating the identity of a living person based on a physiological or behavioral characteristic." In short, biometrics is a rapidly growing field that uses biological identifiers to provide heightened security to its users.
Why should I choose fingerprint technology?
Fingerprint technology represents the largest and most proven segment of the Biometrics Industry today. Fingerprints are no longer James Bond technology that only the FBI or CIA can use. Currently, it is more cost-effective, easy to use, and more reliable than ever before. You can use it for your home and/or your business. And you don't need an Engineering degree to make it work!
How will fingerprint door locks increase my security?
Unlike keys, passwords, security cards, etc., your fingerprint cannot be lost, shared, or duplicated. Much like a snowflake, there is no fingerprint identical to another. Fingerprint door locks eliminate these significant downsides to traditional door locks.
What are the limitations of fingerprint door locks?
While fingerprint door locks prevent loss and improve overall security, they are not without quirks or exceptions. Specifically, before purchasing a fingerprint door lock, you should consider the following: number of users, temperature requirements, cleanliness of fingers, FAR and FRR (see product specifications for details). Most importantly, you must have clearly defined peaks and valleys on your fingerprint ridge pattern. If this is not present, then you may experience inconsistent acceptance when trying to enroll or verify fingerprints. In short, be patient. This represents a significant change from your traditional locks and takes a little getting used to.
How can I tell if I need to order a right handed or left handed lock?
It's as simple as using our "Installation Helper" diagram.
BioAxxis Specific:
How can I find a locksmith in my area using your website?
Go to Locksmith-Locator.com and click on your state. All current participating locksmiths in your area will appear.
Why are BioAxxis® fingerprint door locks "the best"?
There are several reasons that differentiate our locks from the competition . Most importantly, our door locks fit your standard door. Many of our competitors need to have special drilling do to install their locks, often requiring a new door. Secondly, our locks work. Period. End of story. No other biometric fingerprint door locks on the market received the Best of Innovation Award at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2004 except ours. None have received the enormous media attention and accolades as well, except ours.
Will you share my information with anyone?
NO WAY. We firmly believe in the privacy of our customers. We will not provide outside parties with any customer information for promotional, commercial, or profitable usage of any kind. |
